Chief Financial Officer

About the role

Daly Recruitment is exclusively partnering with a successful, expanding multi-site tourism business to recruit a commercially minded Chief Financial Officer to join its executive team and help drive the next stage of growth.

This is a broad strategic leadership role for an ambitious finance professional who combines strong financial control with sharp commercial judgement. The CFO will help shape strategy, evaluate investment opportunities, strengthen performance reporting and support sustainable value creation within a private equity-backed environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted strategic adviser to the CEO, Board, investors and lenders.
• Lead the finance function, including financial control, governance, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
• Deliver clear, timely Board reporting, KPIs, scenario analysis and commercially focused insight.
• Drive EBITDA growth through detailed analysis of revenue, margins, pricing, procurement, productivity and operational performance.
• Lead financial modelling, investment appraisal and capital-allocation decisions across growth initiatives, acquisitions, infrastructure and technology.
• Support acquisition activity, including financial due diligence, investment papers, transaction support, integration and post-investment performance tracking.
• Lead banking, lender and covenant relationships, and support financing and refinancing activity as required.
• Improve systems, reporting, data quality, automation and business intelligence to support a scalable, insight-led organisation.
• Develop a high-performing finance team and embed robust processes, controls and commercial discipline across the business.

Requirements

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant.
• Proven experience as a CFO, Finance Director or senior finance leader within a commercially driven business.
• Experience operating in a private equity-backed environment and working with investors, lenders and Boards.
• Strong commercial acumen, financial modelling capability and investment-appraisal experience.
• Demonstrable experience of budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning and performance improvement.
• Acquisition, integration and/or refinancing experience would be advantageous.
• Experience in a multi-site, asset-intensive, leisure, hospitality, property or consumer-facing business is desirable, though not essential.
• An entrepreneurial, hands-on and collaborative approach, with the confidence to constructively challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
• Full, clean driving licence.

Location and hours

Based in Northern Ireland, with flexibility to work across two sites and one day of hybrid working per week.

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, with the flexibility expected of a senior executive role.
