General Manager – Coastal Rural Hotel

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced hospitality professional to lead a charming, family-run coastal hotel in a beautiful rural setting.

We are seeking a confident, hands-on General Manager who is passionate about delivering great guest experiences, leading a close-knit team and supporting the continued success of an independent hotel business.

This role would particularly suit a strong Operations Manager, Deputy General Manager or Hotel Manager who is ready to take the next step into their first General Manager position.

The role:

As General Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the hotel, ensuring high standards across guest service, accommodation, food and beverage, team leadership and commercial performance.

You will work closely with the owners and lead by example, creating a positive team culture while ensuring guests receive a warm, memorable and professional experience.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and developing the hotel team.
• Managing daily operations across all departments.
• Maintaining high standards of guest service and accommodation.
• Driving revenue, controlling costs and supporting business growth.
• Overseeing rotas, recruitment, training and staff performance.
• Building strong relationships with guests, suppliers and the local community.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and licensing requirements.

The successful candidate:

You will be a hands-on hotel professional with the confidence to take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the property. With strong operational experience and commercial awareness, you will lead the team, uphold excellent guest standards and help drive the hotel’s ongoing success.

You will ideally have:

• Experience in a hotel operations, deputy general manager or senior management role.
• A hands-on leadership style and the ability to motivate a small team.
• Strong guest service and problem-solving skills.
• Commercial awareness, including budgeting, cost control and revenue performance.
• The confidence to manage a varied role in an independent, family-run environment.
• Flexibility to live and work in a rural coastal location.

A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered to the successful candidate. Accommodation is included as part of the package due to the hotel’s rural location.
